Delivering the EYFS

 

All OFSTED early years providers must follow the governments EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) which sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old.

 

There are 7 areas of learning. These areas combine together to make up the skills, knowledge and experiences that babies and children acquire as they grow, learn and develop.

 

The 3 prime areas are:

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development

• Physical Development

• Communication and Language

 

and the 4 specific areas which are:

• Literacy

• Mathematics

• Understanding the World

• Expressive Arts and Design
